Directions

Wellington is only 50 minutes drive from Cape Town. Take the N1 from Cape Town (or N2 and cross over to the N1 via the R300) or approach via Durbanville from the Atlantic seaboard suburbs. If on the N1, take the Klapmuts turnoff and turn left, following the Wellington signs.

The Wild Olive cottages are about 6km from Wellington, at the foot of the historic Bain's Kloof mountain pass. When approaching from the Wellington side of the pass, one should leave the town by turning off Piet Retief street into Church street (following the Bain's Kloof pass signs). Follow Church street until it leaves town and starts to climb up the mountain, entering Bain's Kloof pass. Check your odometer when leaving town, we're exactly 5.3km from the 4-way stop street intersection.

Landmarks you will pass include Bovlei Cellars, Vercelli restaurant, the Hawekwa entrance and the entrance to the Antoniesvlei picnic and camping site. When passing the Antoniesvlei entrance, you have only 700m to go. Shortly after passing the Antoniesvlei sign, the road turns very sharply left, is straight for a few hundred meters and then turns very sharply left again. As you turn this bend you will pass over two small bridges before finding our entrance on the right, about 40m after the bend.

Enter through the gate and follow the track up to the right where you will see one of the cottage on the hillside.

If you are approaching from the Ceres side of the pass, our entrance is the first farm entrance on the left at the foot of the pass. If you miss it you will soon see the Antoniesvlei entrance, where you can turn around and approach as described above.

If you have any doubts when approaching the farm, call me and I will meet you at the gate!
